Hugo Riveroll a.k.a Hamelin is well known for his trance live project named Xibalba; but he has been into music since 1990 as bassist and lead singer of a rock band named La Cloaca. While his musical career was growing as a member of the pop group Remitente, he studied a master degree in Audiovisual Communication enriching it with graduates in Professional Audio Ingeniering and Professional Studio Recording.
By 1998 his musical life turns into the field of the electronic music; in the search of self-efficient musical production he finds himself djing psytrance music and producing what would become one of the most danceable trance music in Mexico. In 1999 as one of the most well known Mexican djs, he became resident dj at Bar Slava and Bar Hawaii in Mexico City. By the end of that year his career as producer and ingenier continue with the production of Santiago Natael (Chile) CD promo and other singers like Omar Rojas and Fernando Michaus.
He kept working at the electronic scene, starts a project with Jean Claude Bojanowski a.k.a. Borj, actual label manager of Raramuri Rec. At that time, Hamelin met Odiseo with whom he decided to start a project, which became one of the most important and heard projects of Mexico around the world Xibalba. Having not enough, he started a side project with Ojos and Gandulk a.k.a Trancemission (Iboga Mx) named H2O with whom he released some tracks.
With Xibalba, Hamelin has had live and dj presentations at international festivals like Universo Parallelo (brasil 2005), Tshitraka (germany 2004/2005), Indian Spirit (germany 2004/2005), Earthdance Mex (2004), sharing stages with musicians like Simon Posford, James Monroe, Mapusa Mapusa, Freq, Infusion, Antaro, Infected Mushroom, Ticon, Son Kite, Dj Pena and so on from an endless list. During these years he got released original tracks as Xibalba and Hamelin in labels as Yellow Sunshine Explosion, AP Rec, Sinn tec Rec,Solarsiv Rec, Nebular Hyppot Rec; becoming one of the first Mexican trance project with an 12� vinyl.
After all this time, Hamelin has been working at his solo project and its until 2005 that he decided to take it out of the studio and has his debut with a big success at Scandinavian Electronic Music Festival in Denmark, and starts making dance the trance scene around the world. This spring 2006 Brazil will be dancing with Hamelin tunes, and Europe will have to wait until summer 2006 to dance again with him, and will be playing again at the Scandinavian Electronic Music Festival. Is in 2006 that he started to experiment at new stiles and sounds like electro, house and tribal with a progressive and groover arrengment that we`ll be hearing in the upcoming releases.
